Prepare the card before packaging
First, make sure the card is clean and in good condition. Handle it with clean hands.

1. Slide the card into a soft plastic sleeve (penny sleeve).
2. Then insert the card (in the sleeve) into a rigid toploader for optimal protection.

Secure the packaging
The card must not move during transport. Here’s how to further protect it:

1. Securing: Lightly tape the top of the toploader with a small piece of adhesive tape (preferably painter's tape or masking tape to avoid residue).
2. Extra protection: Wrap the toploader in bubble wrap or place it in a rigid envelope specifically designed for sending documents/cards.

Choose the outer packaging
The choice of envelope or box depends on the value and quantity of cards:

1. For one or two cards, a good-quality padded envelope (letter size) is sufficient.
2. For multiple cards or valuable cards, use a small rigid box (such as a shipping or collector’s box).
3. Avoid standard non-padded envelopes that don’t offer adequate protection against impact.
